Here's a LO of my sleepyheaded little boy. LO is done using Sarah Bryan's Peaceful Fall You can find a link to her shop over there on the left. There's a blinkie, Pimp my Tags with Scraps, under People I CT for.

New LayOut

So, what do you think? I loved the other one, but was so hard to read. I hope this one helps others read better. Tell me what you think!

New LO's

I've done quite a few LO's in the last few days, thought I'd share them with you!

This one was for a challenge, we had to scrap our mailbox!

My girls, in 1999 in the tub, today they fight to much to be cute! LOL

My son Collin, this challenge was.. well INSANE, had to use X amount of elements etc. was a crazy time trying to fit it all on one LO, but it turned out good, to me.

This was just a cute picture, used it for a challenge, but I can't remember what the challenge was LOL.

This one was special, this was taken at my daughters 13th birthday party on the 28th of November. She's my first teenager, and I cherish the photo because I don't have any of her older, with just me and her. I love this LO!

This was for a challenge, and this is Collin as a baby, in late 2000, early 2001, he was born in Dec. 2000.

Received an award!

Thank you Sinnie over at In The Zone for the great award I've received!

Now I know that this award has been going around, and some of those that I'm passing it on to, probably already have it, but that's too bad. I love these people for different reasons, and I want them to have it from "me" to them.

Forwarding some love with this Award to five recipients.

1. JenLin over at JenLin Designs for believing in me when no one else would, besides, I love her designs like crazy!

2. Sarah over at Pimp My Tags w/ Scraps, also for believing in me, and becoming a friend.

3. Jessica over at Scraps by Jessica, go and check out her great scraps, I know you'll love them!

4. Jen over at Chaos Lounge - This girl is amazing, just reading about her life as a mom and what she goes through at home, I often wonder how she can design the way she does, she's a friend whom I'm hoping to become better friends with. She is one of my favorite designers, and with DC closing, I'm hoping to see her designs elsewhere in a real hurry, I so will miss the Candy Jar! By the way, my LO here on blogspot... that's all her work, it's from one of her kits called Climbing Trees!

5. Trish - I don't know you very well, yet. I love your work and am patiently awaiting where I will find it, with DC closing. I love your blog and am at it all the time, I'm looking forward to seeing your designs elsewhere. I've bought so much of your stuff over the last two weeks it's crazy! You can visit her shop over at TrishH Designs.

New LO??

I think I'm going to start a new LO for the blog, so you all have an easier time reading my posts, especially for the tutorials. Let me know what you think? SweetDragon

Desktop LO....

I made this Desktop LO as part of a challenge over at DC. Oh boy did I use the kits for this! I used the template provided by Danielle Corbitt over at Digital Candy, Build A Snow Man by Candy's Treats, The gold elements were from a Xmas Blog Train and created by Bel Vidotti, and the gorgeous paper was created by Bea Creations in a kit simply named Christmas. I used the font 2Peas Angel. Proudly displaying my four children. More to come as I was sick today, hope to get a tutorial and a few layouts out tomorrow for you all! Good night!

LO's Tuts Oh My!

I'm in a very creative mood, I'm going to be writing up a few tuts and creating some LO's from my daughters 13th b-day party. We roller skated at the roller rink, I don't think I've done that in almost 20 years but I do gotta say... I STILL GOT IT, WOHOOO! Keep your eye out for the tuts and LO's!

I miss my nephew...

It's been 9 years this month since I lost my nephew, and I miss him dearly. This layout was made with a kit named Sunshine Baby by Scraps by Jessica, you can find a link to her blog on the left, or you can click her blinkie over there too, since I CT for her! Thanks for looking!

New LO! Mommy and Collin

Here's my latest LO, using a scrap kit from Sarah at Pimp my Tags... you can find the link under my favorite links over there on the left. The kit is called "So Happy" and it's really a great kit!

Gorjuss Taffy Tutorial

This tutorial was created in PSP 9 but should work in any version. If you like my tutorial, please link to my blog, and please do not claim my work as your own. Thank you!

Supplies:

Four tubes of your choice, mine are PTU Suzanne Woolcott tubes.

Scrap kit of your choice, I'm using Baby Cakes Scraps free tagger kit called PaPaws Taffy, which you can download on her blog. Or I have provided the butterfly, dragonfly and both frames that came with this kit here.

Mask of your choice.

Let's get started.

Open a new canvas, transparent 600x500, we can resize as needed.

Go into your scrap file and choose one of the frames, for this tutorial I chose the first one.

Copy and paste the frame into your blank canvas.

With your magic wand, click inside one of the frames, as seen below:

Go to Selections>Modify>Expand, put 3 in the box, and click okay.

Go to one of your tubes, resize how you'd like it to fit within the frame, then copy and paste it as a new layer on your frame canvas, with the mover tool, move it within the selected area. Once you have it how you like it, go to Selectins>Invert, then hit the delete key.

Selections>Select None

Move your tube layer below the frame layer.

Repeat this with the last three frames.

At this point you should have something like this:

Click on your frame layer, go to Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow.

Vertical and Horizontal should both be at 2, Opacity at 71, Blur at 5.00 and Color Black, click okay.

Go to Layer>Merge>Merge Visible

Go to Image>Resize Resize to 80%, Smart Size and make sure Resize all Layers is UNchecked. Click okay.

Add a new raster layer to your canvas, then go to Selections, Select all. Leave it like that for a moment.

Open a paper from the kit that you like. Copy it, and paste it as a new layer on your canvas.

Now click Selections>Invert, hit the delete button. Delete the blank layer, you should have two layers now, Merged and Raster 2, move your paper below your frame image.

Find your favorite mask, and apply it. You can do so by going to Layers>Load/Save Mask>Load Mask from Disk

On your layers palette, click to highlight the Group-Raster2 Layer. Then to got Layers>Merge>Merge Group

Apply a dropshadow to the mask layer, same settings as before.

Now highlight your merged layer, add a new layer and make sure it's on top. This is where you'll use some of the elements from the scrap kit to decorate your tag to your liking.

Add your credits, please remember to give credit to the artist whenever possible

When you're done it should look something like this:

From here you can add the name you'd like to your design, or what not.

Go to Layers>Merge>Merge Visible

Then go to click Ctrl+c, and then Ctrl+v, Save your image to whatever you'd like.

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and I hope you come back for more. Feel free to leave me comments, I'd love to hear your feed back.

Looking better....

Well it's totally looking better and better. Now I just need to tune up the fonts and such, if you have any ideas, let me know! Hugs, LD
Well it's coming along... slowly. Time for bed, found out I may have a cyst on one of my ovaries tonight, and haven't been able to sleep, going to try to nap for an hour before I have to get the kiddos up for school. Tomorrow comes the header, and changing the fonts around and more blog links and blinkies, and then I'll upload some of my tag tuts and lay outs.... and tags I've made.... busy day! xoxo LD - SweetDragonDesigns
